Anne Lyon

Dr. Anne Lyon graduated from the University of Texas in 1986 and joined her first associateship in Houston where she practiced until moving to Austin. She has been practicing cosmetic and family dentistry in south Austin since 1991.

Dr. Lyon enjoys taking continuing education courses emphasizing the newest technologies and techniques in cosmetic and laser dentistry and has enjoyed evening study clubs learning advanced Invisalign techniques. She also belongs to an implant restorative study club dedicated to learning the latest innovations in implant dentistry. In addition to being a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Lyon is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Texas Association of Women Dentists, Texas Dental Association, the Capital Area Dental Society, Academy of Laser Dentistry, Society for the Dentistry for Children, American Orthodontic Society, and she is also a Certified Provider of Invisalign braces and Six Month Smiles. Recently, she was inducted to the International College of Dentists, in which she was invited by her peers.

Dr. Lyon has two sons, both in college. They enjoy family trips to the beach or to the slopes, boating on Lake Travis, and spending time in downtown Austin for live music and theatre. In the rest of her spare time, she likes to travel, read, and attempts to make it to the gym or trail for a much needed stress relieving, energy burning workout.

Dr. Lyon is dedicated to her dental profession which is demonstrated by the number of committees she is involved with. She works with the Texas Dental Association helping to organize their state meeting in San Antonio every year. As a TDA Council member she was the Chair for the annual meeting in 2015. She is a liaison to the Texas Academy of General Dentistry advocacy council which helps to define rules and regulations that the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners create. Through the Capital Area Dental Foundation, Dr. Lyon donates to the HAMM project which provides dental services to area musicians. Dr. Lyon also serves on the Board of the local Chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry which promotes communication amongst her fellow professionals and emphasizes the need for continued learning by sponsoring continuing education seminars. Dr. Lyon devotes her time and dental services to those in need through several organizations including, Christina's Smile, Texas Mission of Mercy, Manos de Cristo, and several smaller groups “just wanting to give back.”

Balancing her career and family has been a very rewarding challenge.
